Joining Hands Nepal
A Family Orphan HomeHistory
In Nepal, the history of the country is one of economic struggle and geographic difficulty making it hard for every child to receive the proper health care, education, and economic opportunity. Lacking proper infrastructure throughout so many villages in Nepal, the children who live there do not even know about such basic human needs as proper hygiene, balanced diet, adequate clothing and shelter, and quality education. This situation was compounded during the time of war when parents were killed on both sides, leaving many orphaned children as well as single parent homes where the remaining parent could hardly support themselves let alone any children left without a mother or father. Coming from just such a remote village and growing up during wartimes, Himal saw the hardships placed upon these children and single parents firsthand. His own family was poor and did not have much, but he always gave whatever extra he could afford to the needy children of his and surrounding villages. It became a lifelong passion and dream to found a home for these children so he could provide them with real education, shelter, and healthcare, for their bright future and the bright future of Nepal. It was this vision of compassion and intelligence that lead Himal to found the NGO Joining Hands Nepal and open a safe and loving place for these children to call home.
